Custom applications

When no off-the-shelf software fits your reality, we build the one that will. Web or mobile, it follows your processes instead of imposing its own.

A tool that fits you

Off-the-shelf software is designed for everyone, which means for no one in particular. You end up working around its limits with Excel files, emails and re-keying data.

A custom application starts from the opposite end: the way you work. We look at your processes, spot what slows you down, then build a tool that does exactly what’s needed, with nothing superfluous.

What we build most often

  • in-house management tools: registrations, bookings, case files, inventory;
  • mobile apps for your members, your field workers or the public;
  • APIs that connect your existing tools to each other.

Web, mobile or both: a single codebase can serve a browser, a phone and a desktop computer. See also Intranet and extranet.

What it changes

Fewer workarounds, more time well spent

Time won back

Repetitive tasks get automated, re-keying disappears.

Reliable data

A single source of truth, instead of ten files that contradict each other.

Controlled access

Everyone sees and edits only what their role calls for.

Ready to grow

We start with the essentials and add more as your needs grow.

How it works

From idea to working tool

  1. Step 1

    Scoping

A workshop to pin down the real need, the users and the priorities.

  2. Step 2

    Prototype

Clickable screens to validate the experience before writing any code.

  3. Step 3

    Development

In short iterations, with versions to try along the way.

  4. Step 4

    Launch

Deployment, training for your teams and support through the first days.

“Good software fades into the background: you stop thinking about the tool and focus on the work.”

Questions

What we’re often asked

How much does a custom application cost?

It depends on the scope. After the analysis, we present more than one costed scenario so you can choose based on your budget.

Can we start small?

That’s actually what we recommend: a first version focused on the essentials, put in the hands of real users, then built upon.

What exactly do you own?

Your project, your data and your content belong to you, at all times. The code remains our intellectual property, and you have full use of it for your organization.

It’s first a matter of method: every application relies on components we’ve built and proven from one mandate to the next. It’s also a matter of integrity and security: we know exactly what runs on your servers and who has touched it, and we can fix a vulnerability right away.

A full transfer of the code remains possible, if the contract provides for it.

An idea that doesn’t exist yet?

That’s exactly what we do best. Tell us about it: we’ll find the best way to build it, on your timeline and within your budget.
